Christine de Grancy

China, 1984 – 1986

Christine de Grancy began to turn her attention to photography in 1965 and since then has travelled extensively notably through Greece, Japan, Algeria, China, Pakistan, Turkey, Georgia, Russia, Niger and Mali for her work. She has shown in many galleries and museums notably in Hamburg, France (Visa pour l’image, Perpignan), New York, Tokyo, Beirut, Russia and Vienna. In 1993, she was listed by the French magazine PHOTO amongst the 100 best photographers in the world. She has received numerous awards in Austria and abroad.
Amongst her most well-known publications and exhibitions feature notably “Chinesen” (1986), “Lebenszeichnen” (1987), “Magic Moments – 40 Jahre Leica M” (1994), „Wolgawelten” (1995-2005)  Marina Tsvetayeva Museum Moscow (1999), “Die Tuareg-Frauenbilder aus der Sahara” (2000), “Tausend und eine Spur” (2008), „TRANSIT.
